Best overallOur favourite way up Kilimanjaro: quiet western rainforest, two nights on the Shira Plateau and the most time to adapt to the altitude.
HutsThe only Kilimanjaro route with huts instead of tents, with an extra acclimatisation day at Horombo for a better summit chance.
Quiet & dryThe only route from the north: drier, quieter and gentler, with a night by the lake beneath Mawenzi's peaks.
SteepestThe steep, wild Umbwe route with an extra acclimatisation day at Barranco, for a better chance of reaching the summit.
Highest successThe longest and quietest route, circling the remote northern slopes: the most time to adapt to the altitude and 360° views.

We live at the foot of Kilimanjaro. You deal directly with the people who organise and guide your climb, with no agent in between.
Professional, experienced guides, porters and cooks, paid fairly and treated ethically, with large portions of fresh food and purified water every day.
Park fees, guides, porters, meals, transfers and 2 hotel nights are in the price. The table shows exactly what you pay for your group size.
Join a group or climb privately, choose your dates, and add a safari or Zanzibar after the summit.
No. Kilimanjaro is a trek, not a technical climb — no ropes or mountaineering skills are needed. What matters most is good general fitness, a positive mindset and choosing an itinerary long enough to acclimatise (7 days or more).
Most climbs take 6 to 9 days on the mountain. The shortest possible itinerary is 5 days on the Marangu route, but longer climbs give your body more time to adapt to altitude and have much higher summit success rates. We recommend 7–8 days.
The driest and most popular months are January to early March and June to October. April, May and November are the rainy seasons — the trails are quieter but wetter. The northern Rongai route is a good option if you want to climb in the rainy months.
Your policy must cover high-altitude trekking up to 6,000 m, emergency evacuation (including helicopter rescue) and medical treatment. Standard travel insurance often excludes high altitude, so check the small print before you travel.
Send us your dates and we’ll reply with a clear price and the best route for you.
