Who we are
This website is run by Kili Hike Adventures, a tour company based in Arusha, Tanzania. If you have any question about your information, email us at kilihikeadventure@gmail.com or call or WhatsApp +255 762 584 747.
What we collect, and why
- Enquiries and trip requests (the contact form, the booking form on each safari page and Plan Your Trip): your name, email, phone number, country, travel dates, number of travellers and anything you tell us about your trip. We use it to answer you, prepare your travel proposal and, if you book, run your trip.
- Newsletter: your first name and email address, to send our newsletter a few times a year. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any newsletter or emailing us.
- WhatsApp: if you message us on WhatsApp, your messages and phone number are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
Where your information is kept
Messages sent through our forms are stored by Netlify, the company that hosts this website, and sent to our email inbox. We keep them for as long as we need to handle your enquiry or booking, and longer only where the law requires it, for example for accounting.
Cookies and Google Ads
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept cookies.
- If you accept, we load Google Ads conversion tracking. It tells us whether people who found us through our Google adverts went on to send an enquiry or start a WhatsApp chat, so we can improve our advertising. Google may set cookies and receive information such as your IP address and the pages you visited. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- If you decline, no Google Ads code loads at all.
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Content from other services
Some pages show content from other companies, which may receive your IP address and set their own cookies when you view it:
- the background video on our home page and the videos in our gallery (YouTube, owned by Google);
- our reviews (SafariBookings and Tripadvisor);
- some photos (Unsplash) and our text font (Google Fonts).
Information saved on your device
Your answers in Plan Your Trip are saved in your own browser until you send them, so you don't lose them if you close the page, and your cookie choice is remembered there too. This stays on your device; you can clear it with the "Clear answers" button or your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email kilihikeadventure@gmail.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this page
If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
